Our Commitment To Building A Better Broadway
Like much of the country, our team at Broadway San Diego -A Nederlander Presentation, have been horrified in recent weeks by the unjust killing of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks, and so many others. We have no tolerance for racism, violence, and hatred, and we stand with the movement towards racial justice in our city and around the globe.
Broadway San Diego is stepping up to make a pledge to do our part to support the movement. We acknowledge that we must work toward a world that gives space to Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) voices. Going forward, we intend to use our platform to support voices that have been suppressed, to work towards a more equal future, and to push our industry forward. We acknowledge that we are still learning, but must take a stand now toward a greater good.
Last week, our team participated in the #BwayforBLM forum hosted by the Broadway Advocacy Coalition, which inspired and motivated us as never before to hold ourselves and our industry accountable for aspiring to true equality.
We are listening, and are committing to continuing the conversation. Here are a few ways to support and keep the conversation going locally:

ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties:

This list is designed to start the conversation. If you would like to join the conversation or share additional resources, please email us at info@BroadwaySD.com.
You can join us by supporting these organizations and diving into the Broadway Advocacy Coalition’s antiracism resources.
This is only the beginning. We plan to continuously reevaluate and improve as we continue to listen and grow, but we hope these first steps will lead to lasting change on Broadway and beyond.
Land Acknowledgement
Broadway San Diego respectfully acknowledges that the land on which we gather including our office, and the venues where our events are presented, the Civic Theatre & Balboa Theatre, are situated on the land of the Kumeyaay Nation and its people of the past, present and future. This land extends from San Diego and Imperial Counties in California to 60 miles south of the Mexican border. The Kumeyaay are members of the Yuman language branch of the Hokan group and we acknowledge, respect, and uplift their ancestral stewardship of these lands, and invite you to learn more about the lands you inhabit at: Native-Land.ca | Our home on native land
#StopAsianHate
Broadway San Diego condemns violence, hate, and bias and stands in solidarity with our friends, families, colleagues, and all members of the AAPI community.
SAVE OUR STAGES
We’re shining our spotlight on incoming Senate Majority Leader Senator Chuck Schumer for his tireless efforts in passing the #SaveOurStages Act. This new law is a game-changer for our industry’s recovery. Broadway ‘On The Road’ gives you a standing ovation!

San Diego Food Bank
Recently, we asked our family, friends and partners to join us for a virtual food drive in partnership with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. The response was incredible and for that, we wanted to thank you and let you know that we have already raised enough for over 65,000 meals for San Diegans!
